When elementary and middle school students need to create project boards or write simple papers they, and their parents, will often turn to the public library for help. The experience can be challenging for paraprofessional staff and frustrating for patrons.

This interactive webinar is designed to assist paraprofessionals in public libraries to help young students understand their homework assignment, research information and then use library computers to create the papers and project boards.

Participants Will Learn:
* How to help students and parents understand the homework assignment.
* Strategies for keyword searches in catalogs and databases to help students gather information.
* Helping students plan ahead for the bibliography or “works cited” portion of their project.
* Teaching students how use Microsoft Office and Google Docs formatting tips and tricks.
* How to assist students without doing their homework for them.
