Much has been said about burnout in recent years, but it remains a persistent challenge for libraries. In fact, the problem of burnout is so
widespread that it is now recognized by the World Health Organization as an “occupational phenomenon.”
Traditional approaches to addressing chronic workplace stress and burnout have put the responsibility on individual employees to practice self-care
and avoid burnout. However, a growing body of research is demonstrating the limitations of these individual-level approaches. In this webinar, library
managers and leaders will gain information and tools to help them build an organizational strategy to tackle, reduce, and prevent burnout.
As a result of this program, attendees will:
● Reflect on personal experiences with burnout
● Identify causes and impacts of burnout
● Identify industry norms that perpetuate widespread burnout in the
library field
● Explore organizational approaches and related mindset shifts to
prevent burnout
The recording and handouts will be available on Niche Academy after the live event as well as our library of over 700 recorded sessions. To access Niche, go to: https://my.nicheacademy.com/floridalibrarywebinars
