Attendees will:
• Learn how library-specific cognitive blinders stymy efforts for innovation, sustainability, and morale
• Explore three or more cognitive blinders
• Devise ways to identify the most salient blinders effecting your library, your team, or your personal productivity and creativity,
• Discuss strategies for changing people’s mindsets

Presenter: Rebecca Tolley is the interim director of research and instruction services at East Tennessee State University’s Sherrod Library where she also coordinates the research consultation service. She speaks and publishes on topics such as organizational culture, customer service, and cultivating empathy in library workers. Her book A Trauma-Informed Approach to Library Services was published by ALA Editions 2020.
