Everywhere you go you see kids with a smartphone or tablet in their hands so we’ll survey some of the best apps for children. During this session, we will consider:
– Apps that effectively blend education with entertainment
– Apps to entertain a variety of ages
– Apps as a library you can use for programming and recommend to parents to help encourage reading

This session with emphasize free apps for both iOS and Android. Please be ready to share some of your favorites too.

Biography ~ Kira Smith
Kira Smith is a virtual reference provider for Florida’s Ask A Librarian Service. She has Master’s Degrees in Library Science and Education. Kira is a former elementary school teacher and childbirth educator. She has lived in New York, Louisiana, Texas and Florida. She enjoys teaching, technology and travel.
