Marketing for libraries is more important than ever. Libraries need to learn to draw patrons, entice funders, investigate their competitors, become social, and improve services. But marketing is more than flyers and newsletters. In the first session of this interactive webinar series, we will review the key concepts of the traditional marketing cycle as used in business and then apply these concepts to libraries and other information service organizations.
We will sketch out the main sections of a marketing plan for your library or information center including data collection, selecting marketing priorities, and analyzing your organization and your competition. Participants will be provided with a variety of tools that they will be asked to apply to their own organization in preparation for the second session. Participants should plan to attend both sessions of this series.
