The current version alone has been downloaded almost 20 million times, and the WordPress community has built more than 38,000 plugins to extend and enhance the system. Libraries are using this technology to create community-oriented websites, blogs, subject guides, digital archives, and more.
This practical session will walk you through the entire process of creating a WordPress website for your library, including:

Instructor Bio ~ Chad Haefele
Chad Haefele is the Emerging Technologies Librarian at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As part of the User Experience Department, he explores evaluation and improvement of the campus libraries’ web presence and other points of interaction with users. Chad’s (WordPress-powered) blog is at HiddenPeanuts.com. Chad’s book, WordPress for Libraries, was published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2015.
