“Buzzfeed is an extremely popular social news site that has taken over social media. You may have seen a list (11 Libraries You Need to Visit Now), a quiz (What Kind of Library are You?), or watched a video (6 Things only Librarians Would Understand) originating from the site. But what many people don’t know is that the site goes beyond just cutesy lists.

Join us an indepth look at how sites like Buzzfeed work as we explore how they make money, gather data, and entice you to click on their links. We’ll also explore how to create a Buzzfeed page of your own for library promotion or for fun. Finally, we’ll talk about other viral media sites and how to distinguish the reputable ones from the junk as well as how to use these sites effectively as part of your library’s own social media plan.”
