Jack Baur (Berkeley Public Library) and Amanda Jacobs Foust (Colorado State Library), two longtime graphic novel selectors and the co-hosts of the In the Library with a Comic Book podcast present a unique opportunity for librarians working in any environment to learn about next-level graphic novel collection development, with a special emphasis on building diverse collections.

The duo will share their collection development best practices, favorite resources, and philosophical approach to building and curating a diverse graphic novel collection. Amanda Jacobs Foust ~ Biography
Amanda Jacobs Foust is librarian and trainer who speaks frequently at national and state conferences on a wide range of topics such as: eBook management, grant writing, website evaluation and content curation, including social media. Amanda is a dedicated comics reader and she co-hosts and produces the popular In the Library with a Comic Book podcast with Jack Baur of Berkeley Public Library. Jack Baur ~ Biography

Jack Baur is a graduate of the University of Oregon and University of Washington who discovered he could parlay his longtime love of comic books into a legitimate career niche, paving the way for much of what’s happened since. Shortly after grad school Jack became a Teen Services Librarian at the Berkeley Public Library. Jack likes comics, and since he’s been a Teen Librarian, he’s written several articles, a chapter in Genreflecting, gone to conventions and provided trainings about using comics in the library.
