Viva Florida 500 is a program introduced by the Florida Department of State to commemorate the 500 years since Ponce de León first landed on the east coast of Florida. The Viva Florida website was designed specifically to highlight Florida’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, which makes it a very useful resource when answering a wide range of reference questions. In this brief video, we’ll take a look at the Viva Florida 500 website and see just how resources on that site can be used to assist our library patrons – and visitors – across the state of Florida.
