Join us to learn more about Florida Libraries as Small Business Incubators. John Hagen, President and CEO of the Pasco Economic Development Council, will provide information about partnerships between libraries and local economic development councils that includes the promotion of spaces in libraries where small businesses grow and the resources available such as shared work spaces, little to no cost equipment for use and free databases to help focus in on local clients’ needs. He has some impressive statistics from his office’s partnership with Pasco County Library System and the Cooperative to underscore the success of their endeavors.
John oversees all aspects of the Pasco Economic Development Council’s programs and operations. He recently relocated to Pasco County from Surprise, Arizona, where he served as Economic Development Director for five years. John has a career in economic development spanning 30 years in Arizona, Indiana and Michigan. John holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and is an alumnus of Grand Valley State University’s Seidman Graduate School of Business. He also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He has earned the professional certification, CEcD, from the International Economic Development Council.
