Girls Who Code (http://girlswhocode.com) is a program created to inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities.

One method of bringing coding experience to girls is through their Clubs. These Clubs are an excellent opportunity for libraries to partner with local volunteers to bringing coding to girls in your community.

Included in this session, we will explore:

  • Overview of Girls Who Code. Who we are and why our mission is important
  • High level overview of the Girls Who Code Clubs program
  • Benefits/ outcomes of hosting a Club at a library
  • Ways GWC supports Clubs.
  • First hand experience from a library on implementing and maintaining this free program
