This session will focus on using mobile devices in instruction to effectively engage an audience, patrons, and students. iPad scavenger hunts provide a unique opportunity to engage participants in a fun yet effective instruction format that allows users with differing learning styles to understand key concepts. Other positive learning outcomes include an increased knowledge regarding the use of integrated technology and mobile devices and apps, building group dynamics, and alternative ways of understanding and utilizing library resources with technology.

Biography~Craig Amos, M.S.L.S. (camos@nova.edu)
Craig Amos is the Subject Specialist for Science and Technology at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University. He has 16 years of academic library experience in instruction, reference, and public services.

Biography~ Susan Berkman, M.L.S (sberkman@nova.edu)
Susan Berkman is the Subject Specialist for Business at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University. She serves as the liaison for instruction, collection development and faculty support between the Library and the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship. Susan has her own information services business, Research-Ability.

Biography~Jamie Segno, M.L.I.S, M.S.L. (js1830@nova.edu)
Jamie Segno is a Reference Outreach Librarian II at Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center where she currently serves as the coordinator for undergraduate library instruction and outreach.  Previously, Jamie has served as a Young Adult Librarian.
