Instructor Bio ~ Chris Demmons
Chris Demmons is the former managing and social media editor at the St. Petersburg College Sandbox News, and was responsible for setting up the paper’s innovative live coverage team. He currently works as a social media consultant with area non-profits and small businesses, specializing in social promotion and brand engagement. In that role he was responsible for training students and newspaper volunteers on social platforms and set the standards for covering live events at the paper. As a St. Petersburg College student, he volunteers in the Seminole, Florida campus Innovation Lab and is working towards a mass communications degree. At SPC he has assisted in presentations on social media and online safety. An early zine and e-zine pioneer, he has worked in publishing since the late 1990s. During that time he worked on small press publications like Pandora’s Box, The People’s Temple of Mass Consumption, and That Olde Brain Matter. He currently writes for The Sandbox News, the Innovation Lab Resource Bundle, and on cdemmons.com.
