Even in wealthy communities, libraries have become the place to learn about and access modern technology, including computers, mobile devices, dedicated e-books, and tools available in Makerspaces and STEAM programs. And there are challenges: dealing with what might be a major, permanent shift regarding the mission of libraries; conflicts among staff regarding old and new duties; and staff overwhelmed by rapid changes in technology, demands of customers, and insufficient funds, personnel, and training. Learn how professional tech people deal with similar issues, and what you can do regarding managing IT expectations of co-workers and library customers.

Biography ~ Pat Wagner
Pat Wagner has been a trainer and consultant for libraries since 1978. She presents at state and national library conferences as well as working with libraries of all types from Alaska to Florida. She has been a frequent visitor to Florida libraries and was a facilitator for the Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute for several years. Pat focuses on skills needed to support better productivity and workplace relationships, from personnel issues to strategic planning. She is known for her practical and good-humored programs.
