Libraries of all types are using social media to reach users and market their services. To be truly effective, though, a library’s social media presence must be guided by clear, measurable goals. This webinar offers tips for managing your library’s social media channels and measuring their success through the use of social media analytics, with an emphasis on Facebook and Twitter. Attendees will learn what metrics are available and which ones they should monitor to determine the effectiveness of their social media strategy. We will also look at third-party analytics tools such as Buffer, Google Analytics, and Sprout Social. Finally, this webinar will explain the advertising options available through Facebook and Twitter, how to create ads, and how to measure return on investment.
Biography ~ Joel Tonyan
Joel Tonyan is the Systems and User Experience Librarian for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. An avid social media user, he maintains his library’s social media channels and regularly presents on topics related to social media, marketing, and analytics. When he’s not at work, Joel can often be found under the stars taking pictures of the moon and planets.
