The modern library’s priorities are constantly shifting and changing. We are all subject to last minute instruction sessions, kooky projects, and the dreaded “other duties as assigned.”

In this two hour session, we will take the time to explore–through informal research and observations, library and management literature– time management challenges and solutions in the library world. Instructor and attendees will share some of our biggest time stealers/time wasters, and we will work to pair these problems with strategies that can help.

After this class, students will:

  • Understand the major time management challenges in library life–including e-mail and meetings
  • Apply helpful solutions to major time management challenges
  • Explore the benefits of life work balance
