During this webinar, we will focus on harnessing the power of social media for marketing library services.

We will examine the characteristics of social media and what makes it such a powerful and cost-effective tool for reaching an audience and look at tools and techniques for measuring and increasing your library’s influence on social media. Understanding Edgerank and an appreciation for the concept of building social capital will be included.

Specific examples and strategies will help attendees transfer these concepts to everyday practice.

About the Instructor: Stephen Grubb is the E-services Marketing Manager for the Broward County Library System. His responsibilities include coordinating a team that markets library services through the Broward County Library website, print items, social media and mobile app. Stephen is active in assisting the library with adopting new technologies for marketing and education. He is also the coordinator for the library system’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube presence. Prior to E-services, he was a Programs & Exhibits Supervisor for 7 years. During this time, he wrote and implemented several successful grants for library programs. Stephen has a Bachelors in Communications from Indiana University and a Masters in Library Science from the University of South Florida. He currently services on the Florida Library Association Conference Planning Committee. He loves gadgetry and theme parks.
