Librarians can support the Hispanic English Language Learner by utilizing Pura Belpre’ Award books and linked activities for story time and other programs. Visit this session to discover how these winning titles enhance multicultural collections as well as contribute to literary strategies. Biography ~ Deborah Parrott
Deborah Parrott is Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for School Library Media at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee where she teaches Multicultural Literature, Young Adult Literature and other library courses. Her experiences include over 23 years in school and public libraries, with many interesting stories to tell. She is owned by two hairless Chinese Crested rescue dogs: Peanut and Summer.
