Design challenges are a fantastic way to help student dig deeper into making in your makerspace. Learn strategies for creating design prompts, running challenges and incorporating the design process into projects with your students. We’ll discuss how to create open-ended and specific challenges in a way that will maximize your students’ creativity. We’ll also talk about some of the problems that educators face when running challenges, and how to help your students focus.

Biography ~ Diana Rendina
Diana Rendina, MLIS, is a teacher librarian at Stewart Middle Magnet School in Tampa, FL. She is passionate about school libraries being places for students to discover, learn, grow, create, connect and collaborate. Diana participates actively in the International Society for Technology in Education Librarians Network, the American Association of School Librarians and the Florida Association for Media in Education. She is the recipient of the ISTE Librarians Network Secondary Award, the AASL Frances Henne Award and the SLJ Build Something Bold Award.
