What do older adults and teenagers have in common? A lot… but, far too often, neither group realizes it. Both of these marginalized generations struggle with issues like loneliness, independence, and finding a sense of purpose in the world.
Sages & Seekers is a non-profit organization using evidence-based, intergenerational program that brings together these two generations to discover what they have in common and develop empathy for one another.
Unlike many other intergenerational programs, this is not a mentorship program. Both groups learn from one another, building a community based on mutual respect and understanding in order to shatter the stereotypes held by each generation.
Attendees will learn about:
• Benefits of intergenerational programming
• What makes a successful intergenerational program
• The Sages & Seekers program structure and curriculum
Who will Benefit from this Program:
• Staff looking for ways to bring together teen and older adult communities, particularly those who are socially isolated
