AI & Productivity Hacks: How AI Can Help Librarians Every Day

Wednesday, August 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Technology

What’s all of the buzz about AI? Can it actually help us in our day to day work or does it cause more problems than it solves?? In this session, we will explore some practical and useful ways to use AI. We’ll talk through what AI can do (currently), products currently using AI (more than ChatGPT!), what it can’t do, and how to leverage its ability for the now, to help us in our work. We’ll consider ALL areas of librarianship — from public services to tech services! This session should give you some GREAT ideas about how to use AI to hack your productivity. AI is here – let’s make it work for us!

Presenter: Robin Fay is an Instructor and Metadata Librarian who has worked with academic, public, community college libraries and multistate consortias on cataloging and metadata projects for Orbis Cascade Alliance, the Digital Public Library of America, the University System of Georgia, and SkillsCommon. Her interests are in immersive technologies and the intersection of machine learning, data, and us! Robin is also an avid designer and you can find her on instagram and elsewhere as @georgiawebgurl

In addition, this session will be available to stream as a podcast.
