Say What You Mean: Plain Language and How It Can Help Your Library

Thursday, March 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Professional Development

Plain Language is about creating effective and reader-centered communications that help library users find and use the information and services that your library offers.

Using simple, plain language ensures that complex information is accessible and understandable. When materials are simplified, broader audiences can grasp essential concepts without feeling overwhelmed.

This presentation will include:
• An explanation of Plain Language and why you should use it
• Best practices on how to implement Plain Language
• Real-life examples

Presenter: Rebecca Kilde is PR and Communication Coordinator at IFLS Library System in western Wisconsin. She develops effective and scalable marketing solutions for public libraries, nonprofits and small businesses, and has a background in graphic design.

The recording and handouts will be available on Niche Academy after the live event as well as our library of over 700 recorded sessions. To access Niche, go to: https://my.nicheacademy.com/floridalibrarywebinars
